Faith Formation at Home
Nourishing the spiritual development of God’s people engaged with the Covenant Community
We give thanks, then, for the promise of our faith—that the Lord God will bless and keep us, the risen Christ is with us, and the Holy Spirit connects us with believers near and far. We take comfort and inspiration from the example of the earliest believers, who “spent much time together in the temple” and “broke bread at home … with glad and generous hearts” (Acts 2:46). As we anxiously track the news in these times—with numbers of new cases, numbers of persons who have died, and numbers of those who are recovering—we remember the good news of the gospel: “And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved” (Acts 2:47).
If you need some help accessing technology to engage with one another, please send us an email at faithformation@covenantweb.org.
MoFF members are ready and willing to help with technology access or challenges so that we can still fellowship from the comfort of our homes.
Daily Devotions and Prayers
The Daily Prayer App
The PC(USA) Office of Theology and Worship has developed a smartphone app for daily prayer. The Daily Prayer app provides simple, yet rich devotional resources for morning, midday, evening, and close of day. Each service includes psalms and readings from the confessions. Other elements include opening and closing words, biblical canticles, a thanksgiving for light and a prayer of confession. An advanced features menu allows users to customize which elements appear.
Faith at Home
The devotions on this site have been written to focus on the practices of reading, reflecting, and responding. Use them with friends or family to help you deepen your experience of faith experience from Monday to Saturday.
d365 App
d365.org has been posting daily devotions since 2006, reflecting a new theme based upon the Revised Common Lectionary each week. It is designed to inspire readers to live a relevant faith in a changing and complex world. The mobile app contains the same five devotional steps as the website: Pause, Listen, Think, Pray and Go. These steps allow the user to encounter Christ, reflect on scripture and receive encouragement to live out their faith.
Enhance Remote Worship and Fellowship
Light a Candle
Light a candle as you begin worshiping with our Livestreamed services.
The light is another way we can remind ourselves that we are united together through faith.
Gather
Consider gathering remotely through group telephone calls or videoconferencing applications as a way to stay in touch.
Covenant 8 groups could easily gather using a little bit of technology, and enjoy hearing or seeing other members of our Covenant Community!
